Identity Crisis – Part 5

May 6, 2018

One of the ways that the Bible describes how Christ followers are to view themselves is Living in Exile. Peter uses this term in 1 Peter 2:11-12 when he writes…
“Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and
exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage
war against your soul. Live such good lives
among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing
wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God
on the day he visits us.”
As followers of Christ, we are called to “live in this world but not be of this world.” We can only do that as we view ourselves through the lens of an exile. What are the implications for this kind of thinking? We’ll explore this today.
