Hello Team HMI BC,
Valley Church Oliver, BC
There is nothing like the start of hockey season!! It just feels like action. (I do hope there is hockey in heaven.. maybe?) Yes the season is now in full swing, and the HMI action is heating up as well. Here are the highlights...
Clint Hallett and me
The first week of the month saw our Western Canadian HMI staff members and a few local team chaplains meet for lunch in Vancouver with Hockey Ministries President Don Liesemer Sr., and his son Don Jr. It was a good introduction to some new staff members that joined us from Edmonton and Saskatoon. On that first weekend, I had the privilege to perform the wedding of the radio play by play announcer of the Westside Junior A Warriors club. That was a real blessing, and I thank the Lord for these precious opportunities. The weekend finished off with a speaking trip on Sunday to Oliver, BC, where I spoke at Valley Congregational Church. What a wonderful time I had that morning... just super.
Dell and Debbie Rempel
The next week I made two trips, one to Vancouver to meet up with the Coach of the BC under 18 girls team, where we discussed a future chapel program for them, which will be the first female chaplaincy program! I stopped and had a fabulous supper in Chilliwack with life time friends Dell and Debbie Rempel and their family.
I then traveled to Chase BC, where I met with Clint Hallett, who is now the chaplain for the Chase Chiefs Junior B club.
Don Sr. and Jeannie Liesemer
On September 13, I flew to Montreal and spent 4 days at our Annual HMI Staff Conference. This year it was in Stowe, Vermont, which was absolutely beautiful. Spending those days with fellow HMI staff members was just great. The conference was definitely worthwhile. A highlights was spending time with Kevin Doell, the HMI staff member from Saskatchewan. We had a crazy time together, we laughed until we cried....

On the 20th, I drove to Kamloops to meet with the coach of the Chase Chiefs, introducing him to his new chaplain. These are always wonderful moments, as I can see the Lord moving right before my eyes....!
The month is ending with many good talks with players from my own team. I had a great talk with the head coach of the club today, and it looks like we may have a regular mens night with a few coaches to talk about faith issues. I will be the only believer there, so please pray about this new challenge. By the way, I am also playing hockey myself, on a team with few if any believers, ... the mission field never ends! Oh, and I end the month with a team chapel here in Westside.

Enjoy this month's ministry pictures. They show that I really do work with some of the best people around.

Thanks for supporting and praying for us. We are so keenly aware of the great team that surrounds us.
Still flying down the wing,
