Kirk & Shelley Kauffeldt

The Kauffeldts are based at Pan Africa Christian University where Kirk is the President. He also serves as the General Secretary for Theological Education and Leadership Training Advisory Council, a body that serves all the PAOC sponsored Schools in Africa. Shelley is ChildCare Plus Coordinator for Kenya. Her particular ministry is a feeding program for 500 children at Ngei Primary School in the Mathare Valley slum, and she also serves in a campus Ladies Fellowship ministry. Children's Birthdays: Devon~April 20, 1991; Kaitlyn~October 25, 1992

Many of you know that our family is on home assignment right now, and that Kirk traveled back to Kenya on Jan. 18th for several weeks of teaching. Shelley has been in daily contact with him, some of our other missionaries, and also friends in the country.

Kirk recently wrote: "What is happening in Kenya is worse than what I had expected or observed while in Ontario. The problems are very deep and the resolutions are going to be a great challenge to secure. The protesting regarding the election results is the tip of the iceberg. Tribal hatred is the root, and it goes very deep. Everything has been affected to some extent. It has been heart wrenching to hear how some people associated with our community have been victimized."
